Peer Review

This journal follows a blind review process. All contributions are initially assessed by the editor to determine their suitability for the journal. Articles deemed appropriate are sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to evaluate their scientific quality. The final decision on acceptance or rejection of articles rests with the journal’s editor. The editor’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.

Proofs, Late Corrections, Early Access, and Errata

The corresponding authors will receive an email with a PDF from our Editorial Office, allowing them to annotate and register their edits in the PDF version. No changes are allowed after this phase. Authors should consider this review as their last opportunity to make corrections to their article. Once all corrections are made, the article is published in Advance. Subsequently, the article will be published in an issue of the journal. Corrections requested after the article has appeared in Advance will be evaluated, and the journal reserves the right to decline further changes. Once published in an issue, the only available method to correct an article is by publishing a linked Erratum. The purpose of an Erratum is to correct elements that affect the scientific validity of a research work.

Editorial Policy

OPEN ACCESS

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, except in cases of commercial use. In such cases, please contact contacto@index-360.com.

All manuscripts are free open access. No fees for publishing an article (APCs) are charged. Authors sign a license-agreement, where authors have copyright but license exclusive rights in their article to the publisher (this includes the right for the publisher to authorize commercial use).

The article is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0) (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). This license allows others to share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material) for any purpose, even commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated. No additional legal or technological restrictions may be applied that would limit others from doing anything the license permits.

REPOSITORY POLICY

The journal allows authors to deposit versions of their works in an institutional or other repository of their choice.

ETHICS

All articles describing research in humans or animals must include an ‘Ethics’ heading as a section in the Material and Methods. Authors must include in this section all relevant statements regarding approvals, licences, informed consent, etc., as applicable.

a) Research involving humans

Authors must indicate in the Ethics section whether the research was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and national and institutional standards. If approval was obtained from an Ethics Committee, the authors must clearly name the ethics committee responsible if more than one institution is involved. The approval/reference number must be listed in the Ethics section of the article.

Consent to participate

Written informed consent must be obtained from study participants and the existence of this consent must be stated in the article. Authors must supply the relevant approval numbers from Ethics committees or other bodies.

Patient privacy

Patients have a right to privacy. Any information that might result in identification of individuals must be omitted, especially if it is not directly clinically relevant.

b) Research involving animals

All animal experiments should comply with the ARRIVE guidelines and should be carried out in accordance with the U.K. Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, 1986 and associated guidelines, and EU Directive 2010/63/EU for animal experiments, and the authors should clearly indicate in the manuscript that such guidelines have been followed.

AUTHORSHIP

Author Contributions. For complete transparency, all submitted manuscripts should include an author contributorship statement that specifies the work of each author.

The following statements should be used: Conceptualization, X.X. and Y.Y.; methodology, X.X.; software, X.X.; validation, X.X., Y.Y. and Z.Z.; formal analysis, X.X.; investigation, X.X.; resources, X.X.; data curation, X.X.; writing—original draft preparation, X.X.; writing—review and editing, X.X.; visualization, X.X.; supervision, X.X.; project administration, X.X.; funding acquisition, Y.Y. All authors have read and agreed to the published version of the manuscript.

Please refer to the CRediT taxonomy for an explanation of terms. Authorship must be limited to those who have contributed substantially to the work reported.

FUNDING

All papers reporting original research must include a “Funding” section. This section should appear after the “Acknowledgements” section. Details of all funding sources for the work in question must be given. The sentence should begin: “This work was supported by …” or state if there are none “None to declare”.

CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

The journal requires authors to declare all competing interests in relation to their work. All submitted manuscripts must include a “Conflicts of interest” section before the Reference section listing all competing interests (financial and non-financial). Where authors have no Conflicts of interest, the statement should read “The author(s) declare(s) that they have no conflicts of interest”. The Editor may ask for further information relating to competing interests. Editors and reviewers are also required to declare any competing interests and may be excluded from the peer review process if a competing interest exists.

CHANGES TO AUTHORSHIP

Authors are expected to consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list should be made only before the manuscript has been accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor.

CLINICAL TRIALS

Authors must register their trials in one of the databases dedicated to registration of trials. In addition, authors must state the database and provide the unique registration number, both in the abstract and in the main body of the paper.

MISCONDUCT

We will energetically pursue accusations of misconduct directed at authors, Editors or referees. Accusations should not be made lightly or in the absence of the likelihood of supporting evidence being obtainable. The Journal may take the view that accusations are malicious if supporting evidence cannot be found and may direct sanctions against accusers in such cases. Any accusation of misconduct should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief.

Galeradas, correcciones tardías, acceso anticipado y erratas
